    Overview of research:
Galectins are a family of animal lectin which recognize beta-galactoside-containing carbohydrate moieties. Although, they have been proposed to have roles in a variety of biological processes such as immunity, development, cell differentiation and cancer metastasis, detail of the mechanisms of their actions are remained to be clarified. We are aiming to discover a novel biological concept through our galectin research.
